| This model is a replica of a flintlock Kentucky long rifle. This gun
measures just over nine and a half inches from butt to barrel tip. The hammer
is spring loaded but does not lock back. It snaps forward when released.
The cap was placed in the pan on right side under the hammer. I have seen
this model finished in black lacquer and gold chrome. The gold chrome version
has a black finish on the hammer mechanism. It is marked Marx on the right
side of the barrel near the lock.
Warning:
The hammer mechanism is fragile. I have seen many with loose or broken hammers.
Always ask before you buy. I also don't recommend dry firing Kentucky rifles.
Another common defect is the thin piece of plastic stock above the patch box
breaks off. (see below)
